Both roles are Term Time Only plus 1 weeks (39 working weeks)

27.5 Hours per week
TTO + 1 (39 weeks worked, 44.652 Paid)

About this opportunity

As a Legal Officer in the Children and Adults Legal Team you will have conduct of a case load of adult social care matters (under supervision of a lawyer) including: Court of Protection cases relating to deprivations of liberty in the community under the streamlined procedure and property & affairs; and pursuing adult social care debt cases. You will also provide support to the Lawyers on the team by: assisting in research and preparation of advice for the client, preparing documents and evidence for use in court, providing essential document processing, and bundling for Court of Protection cases.

About this opportunity

This post is a career grade post commencing at Accountant level and progressing to Schools Technical Accountant and then to Finance Manager on completion of CIPFA training.

Training to become a fully qualified CIPFA accountant will be provided with the postholder stepping up from Accountant to Schools Technical Accountant on successful completion of CIPFA year 2 exams, and progression to Finance Manager on completion of the CIPFA Professional Accountancy Qualification.  Time for off the job training to complete CIPFA PAQ will be offered.

Only support for CIPFA PAQ will be given, however, consideration will be given to fully qualified accountants with other professional bodies who would like to gain experience in schools and DSG funding.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional, with the drive and commitment to support the Council move towards its objective of becoming Financially Sustainable. You should be AAT qualified with at least 5 years accountancy experience and the desire to become a fully qualified CCAB accountant..
