Westmorland and Furness Council are looking to recruit a Service Manager for our Support and Protect Teams. We are looking for someone motivated, engaging, and innovative who can join us and provide leadership and management to our teams across the Barrow-in-Furness area of Westmorland and Furness.
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced permanent Service Manager to lead and manage our Support & Protect Teams.
We are looking for someone who is a proven manager, who can motivate the teams and ensure effective service delivery; the right candidate will have significant experience of complex work with Children and Young People and will be able to effectively work with partners and the wider services to deliver high-quality care and services across Westmorland and Furness.
Who we are looking for.
You will have a degree in social work and be an expert in this field, able to deliver expert advice to senior colleagues across the organisation. You will also have significant experience of managing a number of teams, or a large team, and monitoring budgets and resources.
You will need to be innovative and creative in your approach and be able to work collaboratively with partners, to ensure the service meets the needs of each child. DBS
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s and Adults Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with adults and children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults and children.
