Pastoral and Behaviour Support Manager

Hours of work: full time (37 hours/week), Permanent. This is a term-time appointment: in addition to the 38 weeks of term, the successful candidate will work for 1 weeks working during school holiday periods; the majority of this time will be staff Inset training. A holiday allowance will take the total of paid weeks to 45 per year.

Based in Penrith, on the edge of the Lake District National Park, Ullswater Community College is a highly sought-after secondary school teaching the full range of age and ability.

We are looking for a motivated, dedicated individual to work in collaboration with the Pastoral and SEND teams to support students who need additional guidance and encouragement during their school years. The successful candidate will manage the day to day running of the Internal Support Unit (ISU) and Withdrawal, ensuring that students are supervised effectively and that high standards of behaviour are achieved.

The successful candidate will have the personal and communication skills necessary to encourage young people to engage with the school and to ensure the smooth running of the ISU. They will also be responsible for establishing and undertaking restorative work with students.

The successful candidate will be educated to at least A-level (level 3) standard, and have at least 5 higher-grade GCSE (or equivalent level 2) passes, including English and mathematics.

Midday Supervisor

The children, staff and governors of St James’ CE Junior School are looking to appoint a Midday Supervisor to start as soon as possible on a fixed term contract until 31st August 2025 due to budgetary reasons. The hours will be Monday to Friday 11:55am – 1:10pm.

6.25hrs per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 1 week) 

Main Purpose:
A midday supervisor will be part of a team that is responsible for supervising pupils and the school’s premises during the midday break to ensure that the break runs effectively and that the safety and welfare of pupils is maintained.

The successful candidate will be:
•    happy and proactive in engaging children in play
•    positive with a caring, nurturing approach
•    able to manage playground issues in a sensitive and effective way
•    able to positively encourage children to eat their meals
